Jamaica is the "mover and shaker" of the group. She just won Asian American Entrepreneur of the year for Creative Marketing. Before she came to us, she assisted the Washington State Lottery with marketing research. After this fascinating experience, she was the marketing coordinator for a local systems integrator.
Jamaica is responsible for our unique market position. She saw a gap in the market and whittled, carved and, ultimately, gouged a place for us. Marketing is an exciting competition for her. We still have only one form of advertisement, which is the Banquet & Event Guide. Otherwise, we have not paid to be in any publications or even listed in the phone book. She wanted to see how far we could grow through word of mouth. A big benefit she discovered is when our phone rings, the caller has already been sold and isn't just price shopping.
Over the years, she has volunteered her knowledge of creative marketing with hundreds entrepreneurs, and DECA Marketing students as a speaker.
Her historical beginnings date back to the age of six when she launched her entrepreneurial career with her first product, yarn pom-poms. The next products included home made rubberstamped bookmarks and lunch bags. Throughout the past twenty-five years, she has offered different products including Cutco Cutlery, Tupperware and her own line of snowboarding hats & vests called "Jangos". For now, she markets the Fun Specialist.
